With over 30 years of experience, CPEQ translates scientific knowledge into prevention tools for young children.
CPEQ will continue its mission to support and guide early childhood practitioners within Abilio - Childhood Knowledge Dissemination Centre, which will now oversee the activities of what was the CPEQ and the Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Development.
Our History
The Centre de Psycho-Éducation du Québec (CPEQ) is a non-profit organization in operation since 1962, whose mission has always been to offer training and consulting services to professionals working with children and families. In the fall of 2023, CPEQ is renewing itself, both in terms of its knowledge dissemination offering and its territory, to become "Abilio - Childhood Knowledge Dissemination Centre". Affiliated with the Université de Montréal's Groupe de Recherche sur l'inadaptation psychosociale chez l'enfant (GRIP), Abilio, formerly CPEQ, will continue to collaborate with various research teams and partners in the field, to become a leader in the prevention of violence and school dropout. A major partner of the Centre of Excellence for Early Childhood Development (CEECD) since its inception in 2001, Abilio will officially take over CEECD's dissemination activities related to the Encyclopedia on Early Childhood Development in the fall of 2023.
Abilio focuses its activities on:
The adaptation and dissemination of recent, impactful research findings, as well as the dissemination of scientifically validated content and tools through constantly updated training courses.
The design of psychosocial preventive intervention programs inspired by best practices, subject to an ongoing evaluation process, and the distribution of the Encyclopedia on Early Childhood Development.
